update Nov

My Dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor, in Feb 2006.

He under went 2 lots of brain surgery back to back (well about a week apart).

The then under went Radium (no Chemo).

Things looked OK for about 1 month after the radium then everything went down hill.  In May, not long after his birthday things got very scary.

Back to the specialists and then the news we suspected but didn't want to hear.
"Sorry there is nothing more we can do"

This is our story,  it is not a feel good story, there are good times and bad.
It is what happened to us.  And still is happening to us.

I have not sugar coated any of the story,  please do not look at this information thinking that all is well that ends well.  These types of diseases often end in sadness.

I'm happy to say at this point we still have some hope.  I just hope it isn't a false hope. (not sure if that sentence even made sense).
EDIT -  we are now waiting for the inevitable

Since the main stream medical profession has basically said to us, "nothing we can do".  We have looked outside the main stream to see what we could find.  Some of the things are VERY VERY interesting.

At this point I must say that I'm a bit of a skeptic in "alternate" medicine.  And I am always concerned that  it could be some sort of con.  But we are all out of options.  My Mum researched this guy and we have heard what he has to say.  I'm not entirely convinced about everything he is saying.  But I did agree with quite a lot he said.

So that is the path we are now taking.  There is one thing that I wish we knew earlier, that was about nutrition.  Quite  a lot of what is said makes sense to me,  check out the books on the library page. But the one that really caught my eye was  Cancer Why We Are Still Dying to Know the Truth  (amazon link, if you want to get if from the library all the details are amazon).  It is very interesting and highly worth a read.

That is why we started the Options Page here.  To let people know a bit more about the options that we have decided to take.
